Earthquake

30-Jun-2024

Do's

  • Drop, cover, and hold on

If you're inside, drop to the ground and cover your head and neck with your arms or a pillow.

  • Crawl to safety

If you're indoors, crawl under a sturdy table or desk if one is nearby. If not, crawl next to an interior wall away from windows.

  • Stay away from dangerous areas

If you're outdoors, stay away from buildings, power lines, trees, and anything that might fall.

  • Stay in your vehicle

If you're driving, stop and stay in your vehicle. Avoid stopping near buildings, trees, overpasses, and utility wires.

  • Stay calm

If you're trapped under debris, stay calm and don't move. Tap on a metal or whistle to help rescuers find you.

    Don'ts

  • Don't run downstairs or rush outside.
  • Don't light a match if you're trapped under debris.
  • Don't shout unless it's absolutely necessary.
